Look at the map. Identify where your character was born.
1) Is the place inspirational or cursed?
a. Growing up, was it a place full of inspiration where you could wonder, look at giant mountains covered in snow, ride the river on wooden logs…
b. Or was it hard cold environment where everyday was a struggle for survival? Playtime is something that happens to others…
(If your character is so cynical and grew up in such a magical place… What happened?)
2) Is the surrounding area (of the place of birth) dangerous (social skills less developed) or safe (combat skill less developed)? How did this impact you?
3) Is the area heavily populated (multiple cultures, lot of trading…) or horridly isolated (deception or persuasion skill less needed???)?
4) Are the neighbours friendly of hostile? (Do you know other languages because you lived near a border…)
5) Look at the naming of the area to better guide your own name (for example: Theros of Burn where Burn is a village)
